A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the award of grants by the Cancer Prevention and |
|
|
Research Institute of Texas Oversight Committee and to the payment |
|
|
of claims related to those grants by the comptroller of public |
|
|
accounts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 403.071(b), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) A claim may not be paid from an appropriation unless the |
|
|
claim is presented to the comptroller for payment not later than two |
|
|
years after the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation |
|
|
was made. However, a claim may be presented: |
|
|
(1) not later than four years after the end of the |
|
|
fiscal year for which the appropriation from which the claim is to |
|
|
be paid was made if the appropriation relates to: |
|
|
(A) new construction contracts; |
|
|
(B) [, to] grants awarded under Chapter 391, |
|
|
Health and Safety Code; |
|
|
(C) [, or to] repair and remodeling projects that |
|
|
exceed the amount of $20,000, including furniture and other |
|
|
equipment and[,] architects' and engineering fees |
|
|
; [,] and |
|
|
(D) other costs related to the contracts or |
|
|
projects; or |
|
|
(2) not later than seven years after the end of the |
|
|
fiscal year for which the appropriation from which the claim is to |
|
|
be paid was made if the appropriation relates to grants awarded |
|
|
under Chapter 102, Health and Safety Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
