A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a study of the effects of building requirements on the |
|
|
use of water conservation technology. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) The Texas State University Meadows Center |
|
|
for Water and the Environment shall study whether state and local |
|
|
building codes and other requirements in this state hinder the use |
|
|
of water conservation technology, including xeriscaping, greywater |
|
|
use, reclaimed water use, and rainwater harvesting and collection. |
|
|
(b) Not later than December 1, 2020, the Texas State |
|
|
University Meadows Center for Water and the Environment shall |
|
|
submit to the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of |
|
|
the house of representatives a report on the findings of the study. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
