A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to authorizing the sale of certain real property held by |
|
|
the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) As soon as practicable after the effective |
|
|
date of this Act, the General Land Office, on behalf of the |
|
|
Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas, shall offer to |
|
|
sell to Child Advocates of Fort Bend the real property described by |
|
|
Section 2 of this Act under the terms provided by this section. |
|
|
(b) Section 31.158, Natural Resources Code, does not apply |
|
|
to the sale of real property authorized by this Act. |
|
|
(c) Consideration for the sale authorized by this section |
|
|
must be in an amount equal to the market value of the property as |
|
|
established by an independent appraisal obtained by the General |
|
|
Land Office. |
|
|
(d) Proceeds from the sale of real property authorized by |
|
|
this Act shall be deposited to the Texas capital trust fund. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Property held by the Department of Public Safety |
|
|
of the State of Texas is described as follows: |
|
|
A portion of Plot R45195, located at 5505 Avenue N in |
|
|
Rosenberg, Texas. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
