A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to political expenditures made by a corporation to finance |
|
|
the solicitation of political contributions to a political |
|
|
committee. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 253.100(b), Election Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(b) A corporation may make political expenditures to |
|
|
finance the solicitation of political contributions to a |
|
|
general-purpose committee assisted under Subsection (a) from the |
|
|
stockholders, employees, or families of stockholders or employees |
|
|
of one or more corporations, including soliciting political |
|
|
contributions by making charitable contributions that fully or |
|
|
partially match the political contributions. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
