A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority to investigate abuse, neglect, or |
|
|
exploitation of children and adults in a residential or inpatient |
|
|
hospice facility. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 142.009, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-2) The commission shall investigate abuse, neglect, and |
|
|
exploitation of a client, including a child as required by Section |
|
|
261.401(b), Family Code, admitted to a residential or inpatient |
|
|
unit under this chapter. |
|
|
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|
|
of this Act, the executive commissioner of the Health and Human |
|
|
Services Commission shall adopt rules necessary to implement this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
