A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to designating July 20 as Space Exploration Day.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 662.071 to read as follows:
         Sec. 662.071.  SPACE EXPLORATION DAY. (a)  July 20 is Space
  Exploration Day in honor of the heroes of Apollo 11 and those who
  continue to pursue innovation and exploration.
         (b)  Space Exploration Day may be regularly observed by
  appropriate ceremonies and activities.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
