A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the membership of the State Board of Dental Examiners. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 252.001, Occupations Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) One of the members appointed under Subsection (a)(1) |
|
|
must be a pediatric dentist. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 252.001, Occupations Code, as amended by |
|
|
this Act, applies only to a member of the State Board of Dental |
|
|
Examiners appointed on or after the effective date of this Act. A |
|
|
member appointed before the effective date of this Act may continue |
|
|
to serve until the expiration of the member's term. As vacancies |
|
|
occur on the advisory committee on and after the effective date of |
|
|
this Act, the governor shall appoint members having the |
|
|
qualifications required by the changes in law made by this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
