A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a prohibition on the use of certain audio recordings or |
|
|
video footage to influence the negotiation of a real estate |
|
|
transaction. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1101.651, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) A license holder representing a seller in a real estate |
|
|
transaction may not use or obtain an audio recording or video |
|
|
footage from surveillance equipment installed or operated inside |
|
|
the seller's property to influence negotiations with a prospective |
|
|
buyer of that property. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
