A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the enforcement of commercial vehicle safety standards |
|
|
in certain counties. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 644.101(c), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A sheriff or a deputy sheriff of a county with a |
|
|
population between 500 and 1000 all or part of which is located |
|
|
within 75 miles of [bordering] the |
|
|
United Mexican States or of a |
|
|
county with a population of 700,000 or more is eligible to apply for |
|
|
certification under this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
