A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the fee for a permit authorizing the movement of certain |
|
|
vehicles transporting an intermodal shipping container. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 623.404(a), Transportation Code, as |
|
|
added by Chapter 108 (S.B. 1524), Acts of the 85th Legislature, |
|
|
Regular Session, 2017, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) An application for a permit under Section 623.402(a) or |
|
|
(b) must be accompanied by a permit fee of $6,000, of which: |
|
|
(1) 32 [50] percent shall be deposited to the credit of |
|
|
the state highway fund; |
|
|
(2) 33 [30] percent shall be equally divided among and |
|
|
distributed to each county designated in the permit application; |
|
|
(3) 33 [16] percent shall be equally divided among and |
|
|
distributed to each municipality designated in the permit |
|
|
application; and |
|
|
(4) 2 [4] percent shall be deposited to the credit of |
|
|
the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles fund. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a permit issued on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
