A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the collection and reporting of data on services |
|
|
provided by chemical dependency treatment facilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 464, Health & Safety Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 464.021 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 464.021. SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER DATA COLLECTION. (a) |
|
|
In this section, "commission" means the Health and Human Services |
|
|
Commission. |
|
|
(b) The commission, in cooperation with the department, |
|
|
shall collect admission, discharge, and transfer data from a |
|
|
treatment facility licensed under this chapter. The commission |
|
|
shall collect data necessary to complete the data set required by |
|
|
the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of |
|
|
the United States Department of Health and Human Services and |
|
|
maximize the overall state allotment of federal funds. |
|
|
|
|
|
(c) The commission shall collect and report data described |
|
|
by Subsection (b) in a manner that maintains confidentiality as |
|
|
required by state and federal law. The data is not public |
|
|
information and is not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, |
|
|
Government Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
