A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to allowing the Bastrop County Commissioners Court to |
|
|
charge interest on assessments for certain county improvements of |
|
|
subdivision roads. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 253.008, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (e) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(b) Except as provided by Subsection (d) or (e), the |
|
|
commissioners court may not require the payment of interest on an |
|
|
assessment. |
|
|
(e) The Commissioners Court of Bastrop County may require |
|
|
the payment of interest on an assessment at the rate determined |
|
|
under Section 304.003, Finance Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
