A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the introduction of the appropriations bill. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 322.008, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsection (a) and adding Subdivisions (1) and (2) to read |
|
|
as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 322.008. APPROPRIATIONS BILL. (a) The director, |
|
|
under the direction of the board and members of the House Committee |
|
|
on Appropriations and Senate Committee on Finance, shall prepare |
|
|
the general appropriations bill for introduction at each regular |
|
|
legislative session, provided that: |
|
|
(1) the members of the House Committee on |
|
|
Appropriations and Senate Committee on Finance are presented with |
|
|
the information for each recommended appropriation before the |
|
|
appropriations bill is introduced; and |
|
|
(2) the members of the House Appropriations Committee |
|
|
and Senate Committee on Finance authorize each appropriation in the |
|
|
introduced appropriations bill before the appropriations bill is |
|
|
introduced. |

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
