CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Olin Hand of Royse City on April 15, 2019, at the age of |
|
83; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Howard and Anna Hand, Cliff Hand was born |
|
in Wichita Falls on October 12, 1935, and grew up with three |
|
siblings, Dale, Anna, and Walter; he earned an accounting degree |
|
from Texas Tech University in 1956, and he embarked on a career with |
|
Citgo Oil that would span almost 30 years, starting in the mail room |
|
and retiring as a senior systems analyst and programmer; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hand went on to build a working lavender farm, |
|
Purple Ranch, with his wife, June, with whom he shared more than six |
|
decades of rewarding marriage; he was the devoted father of four |
|
children, Diane, Sherry, Brenda, and Cliff, and he had the pleasure |
|
of welcoming into his treasured family four grandchildren, Rachel, |
|
David, Jacob, and Jon, and a great-grandchild, Will; and |
|
WHEREAS, Actively involved with his church, Mr. Hand was a |
|
man of deep faith; he was known for his wise counsel and dry sense of |
|
humor, and his hobbies included playing golf and fishing; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Olin Hand is greatly missed, this beloved |
|
man has left his loved ones with many cherished memories, and he |
|
will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Olin Hand of Royse City and extend |
|
sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
Cliff Hand. |
