A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment to allow the transfer of an |
|
|
animal used for county purposes to the animal's handler on the |
|
|
animal's retirement. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article III, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 52l to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 52l. On the retirement of an animal owned and used by a |
|
|
county for county purposes, the county may transfer ownership of |
|
|
the animal to the animal's handler at no cost to the handler. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to allow the transfer of |
|
|
an animal used for county purposes to the animal's handler on the |
|
|
animal's retirement." |
