R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Association of Texas Professional |
|
|
Educators are visiting Austin on February 25, 2019, to celebrate |
|
|
Association of Texas Professional Educators Day at the State |
|
|
Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Now with 100,000 members, the association was |
|
|
founded to serve the needs of Texas teachers, paraprofessionals, |
|
|
administrators, and public education employees; it is the largest |
|
|
independent educators' association in the United States; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, ATPE works diligently to protect the rights of |
|
|
educators across the state, striving to ensure that Texas schools |
|
|
are among the best in the nation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Guided by tenets established by its board of |
|
|
directors, the association encourages its members to participate in |
|
|
the political process and to serve as leaders in their communities; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By engaging educators in the legislative process, |
|
|
the Association of Texas Professional Educators is working to |
|
|
improve our schools, and its efforts are making a positive |
|
|
difference in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the members of the Association of Texas |
|
|
Professional Educators on the occasion of their visit to the State |
|
|
Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in their important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
