R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Association of Texas Professional
  Educators are visiting Austin on February 25, 2019, to celebrate
  Association of Texas Professional Educators Day at the State
  Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Now with 100,000 members, the association was
  founded to serve the needs of Texas teachers, paraprofessionals,
  administrators, and public education employees; it is the largest
  independent educators' association in the United States; and
         WHEREAS, ATPE works diligently to protect the rights of
  educators across the state, striving to ensure that Texas schools
  are among the best in the nation; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by tenets established by its board of
  directors, the association encourages its members to participate in
  the political process and to serve as leaders in their communities;
  and
         WHEREAS, By engaging educators in the legislative process,
  the Association of Texas Professional Educators is working to
  improve our schools, and its efforts are making a positive
  difference in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the members of the Association of Texas
  Professional Educators on the occasion of their visit to the State
  Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
  success in their important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
