R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Katy Independent School District
  community are gathering together on February 16, 2019, to celebrate
  the opening of the district's Gerald D. Young Agricultural Sciences
  Center; and
         WHEREAS, This modern structure was designed to support the
  Katy ISD agriculture, food, and natural resources career cluster,
  which includes programs in horticulture, aquaculture, and
  livestock production; the facility features an eco-pond, a garden,
  and research classrooms, where students can learn firsthand about
  plant and animal life systems as well as the diseases and parasites
  that impact them; and
         WHEREAS, The center also has a pavilion, rodeo arena, and
  show barn to host the district's annual FFA livestock show and house
  FFA student projects; and
         WHEREAS, Katy ISD is helping to ensure the continued health
  and vitality of the Lone Star State's agricultural industry, and
  the opening of this new facility will greatly enhance its efforts in
  that crucial endeavor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of the Katy ISD Gerald
  D. Young Agricultural Sciences Center and extend to the district's
  students, faculty, and staff sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the district as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
