R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Food & Fuel Association are |
|
|
visiting the State Capitol on February 12, 2019; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1949, the Texas Food & Fuel Association |
|
|
is a nonprofit organization representing more than 600 companies in |
|
|
the wholesale and retail segments of the fuel marketing, |
|
|
convenience, and food industries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The organization's member companies own, operate, |
|
|
and supply more than 12,000 convenience stores across the state, |
|
|
from single store operations to some of the nation's largest retail |
|
|
chains; they distribute approximately seven billion gallons of |
|
|
gasoline and diesel fuel each year, both to motorists and to |
|
|
commercial and industrial users; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its current chair, Cary |
|
|
Rabb, the association advocates on behalf of its members' interests |
|
|
and provides networking, educational, and professional development |
|
|
opportunities as well as resources to help stakeholders assess |
|
|
industry trends and market conditions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Texas Food & Fuel |
|
|
Association has worked diligently to support the growth and |
|
|
development of a vital sector of the economy, and all those |
|
|
associated with the group may take pride in the contributions they |
|
|
make to the prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 12, 2019, as Texas Food & |
|
|
Fuel Association Day at the State Capitol and extend to its members |
|
|
sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and informative event; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
