R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jonathan Horn and Kadan Mantooth of Cal Farley's |
|
Boys Ranch distinguished themselves by qualifying for the 2018 |
|
Wrangler Junior National Finals Rodeo, which took place December 6 |
|
through 15 in Las Vegas; and |
|
WHEREAS, The pair made history as the first Boys Ranch |
|
representatives to advance to the Junior National Finals Rodeo; |
|
Mr. Horn competed in bareback riding and saw his performance in Las |
|
Vegas come to an end after suffering an injury in the first round; |
|
Mr. Mantooth took part in saddle bronc riding, ultimately finishing |
|
in 11th place; these talented cowboys have trained together for |
|
four years, participating in the annual Boys Ranch Rodeo and in |
|
numerous high school rodeos; and |
|
WHEREAS, By qualifying for the Wrangler Junior NFR, Mr. Horn |
|
and Mr. Mantooth earned a place among the top youth rodeo athletes |
|
from around the nation; a record number of 700-plus competitors |
|
were included in the 2018 event, demonstrating their skills in |
|
eight events: bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, |
|
steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, |
|
and team roping; and |
|
WHEREAS, To perform at the highest level in the demanding |
|
sport of rodeo requires not only skill but also exceptional |
|
dedication, and these fine young Texans may reflect with pride on |
|
this notable achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jonathan Horn and Kadan Mantooth on |
|
qualifying for the 2018 Wrangler Junior National Finals Rodeo and |
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Horn and Mr. Mantooth as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
