R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Samuel Lee Sherman, who passed away on January 13, 2019,
  at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, S. L. Sherman was born on April 8, 1941, in McNeil,
  Arkansas, to John and Fannie Sherman, and he grew up with the
  companionship of 10 siblings, Herman Lee, Willie, Marcell, Ozell,
  Bernice, Sarah Nell, Salitha, Ollie, Dorthea Faye, and Ovell; and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from McNeil High School,
  Mr. Sherman moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, to attend trade school
  for diesel mechanics; he then went on to enjoy a long and rewarding
  career as the owner and operator of S&L Automotive Shop in San
  Antonio, where he worked until his retirement; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sherman was joined in matrimony to Hattie
  Andrews, and their union was blessed with six beloved children,
  Lynn and Earl Hutchinson and Richard, Samuel, Diannah, and Carl
  Sherman; with the passing years, Mr. Sherman had the pleasure of
  seeing his family grow to include numerous grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews; and
         WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Sherman was a member of
  Rising Star Baptist Church in San Antonio, and later in life, he
  joined the congregation at Mountain View Church of Christ; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, S. L. Sherman
  leaves behind many loved ones whose lives are far richer for having
  known him, and he will always hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Samuel Lee Sherman
  and extend sincere sympathy to those who mourn his passing; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Samuel Lee
  Sherman.
