R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Belton High School Magic Belles performed in the
  130th Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, on January 1, 2019, and
  this achievement is indeed worthy of special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, The team's 28 dancers arrived in Los Angeles on
  December 28 to prepare for the New Year's festivities; following a
  rigorous long weekend of rehearsals, their hard work paid off as
  they danced with HTEDance in the parade's opening number alongside
  grand marshal Chaka Khan, entertainer Jordan Fisher, and the Boys
  of Temecula; the Magic Belles' performance dazzled parade attendees
  as well as those tuning in from across the country; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to their participation in the Rose
  Parade, the Magic Belles have garnered numerous accolades at the
  national level; the team is a four-time national championship
  competitor, and in March 2018, it was crowned the medium class
  national champion team at the American Dance/Drill Team
  National/International Championship; and
         WHEREAS, Benefiting from the direction of Rachel Hill and
  Marla Moore, the Magic Belles have demonstrated outstanding talent
  and commitment to excellence, and they are a source of great pride
  to their families, school, and community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Belton High School Magic Belles for
  their performance in the 2019 Rose Parade and extend to them sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
