R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Steve Waterman retired as the director of the Office |
|
of Commissioners Court Administration for Nueces County on March |
|
31, 2018, drawing to a close nearly a quarter century of service to |
|
the county; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Waterman earned his bachelor's degree at |
|
Minnesota State University in 1966, and after joining the |
|
U.S. Navy, he received a second bachelor's degree from the Naval |
|
Postgraduate School; he served his nation as a naval aviator, |
|
flying Lockheed P-3 Orion antisubmarine and maritime surveillance |
|
aircraft, and over the course of his military career, he rose |
|
through the ranks to become the comptroller of Naval Air Station |
|
Corpus Christi; and |
|
WHEREAS, Following his retirement from the navy, |
|
Mr. Waterman began his tenure with Nueces County in 1995; he worked |
|
in the auditor's office for more than a decade, serving under three |
|
judges, and in December 2006, he was appointed the first director of |
|
the newly created Office of Commissioners Court Administration, a |
|
role in which he helped oversee the efficient operation of county |
|
government; and |
|
WHEREAS, Steve Waterman's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of |
|
Nueces County and earned him the respect and admiration of his |
|
colleagues, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
|
spent; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Steve Waterman on his retirement as |
|
director of the Nueces County Office of Commissioners Court |
|
Administration and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Waterman as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
