H.R. No. 483
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Matthew Richard Snapka Charles of Boy Scouts of
  America Troop No. 3 in Corpus Christi has attained the rank of Eagle
  Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor
  bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting
  movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria,
  Mr. Charles earned 23 merit badges requiring expertise in such
  diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental
  science; in addition, he has benefited his community by
  successfully completing an Eagle Scout project that involved
  raising awareness in the Corpus Christi Independent School District
  about the warning signs of type 1 diabetes; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Brian Charles and Kathryn Snapka, this
  fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
  throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration
  of his fellow troop members as he worked toward the highest rank
  that the organization offers; a member of the Brotherhood of the
  Order of the Arrow, Mr. Charles served as patrol leader, bugler,
  and troop historian, and he earned the Arrow of Light Award;
  moreover, he attended National Youth Leadership Training as well as
  the 2017 National Jamboree; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Charles has demonstrated a dedication to
  excellence and a perseverance in the pursuit of his goals that have
  proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed
  reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Matthew Richard Snapka
  Charles on achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Charles as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
