R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Reverend Michael Wayne Williams was ordained to |
|
the Sacred Order of Deacons in Christ's One Holy Catholic & |
|
Apostolic Church at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Gainesville on |
|
December 30, 2018; and |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Williams is part of the Anglican Church in |
|
North America in the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, which he |
|
serves as a member of the World Mission Committee; he has studied at |
|
the School for Deacons in Berkeley, California, as well as the |
|
Cranmer Theological House in Dallas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on Mather Air Force Base in California, Deacon |
|
Williams is a retired United States Army sergeant who served a |
|
combined 13 years in the U.S. Army and National Guard, with |
|
assignments in Washington, Virginia, South Carolina, Texas, and |
|
Germany; moreover, he is currently the chaplain to American Legion |
|
Post No. 263 in Gainesville; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deacon Williams has further contributed to his |
|
community through his involvement with a number of initiatives |
|
benefiting youth, including scouting and sports programs; in all |
|
his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Angela, |
|
and he is the proud father of five children; with the passing years, |
|
he has also had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include |
|
three cherished grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Williams has demonstrated a wholehearted |
|
commitment to his calling, and his ordination as a deacon provides a |
|
fitting opportunity to honor him for his exemplary service to his |
|
community of faith; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Wayne Williams on being |
|
ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in Christ's One Holy |
|
Catholic & Apostolic Church and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Deacon Williams as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
