R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Roy Douglas Malonson and Shirley Ann Malonson
  retired from the Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic
  Development, Inc., in Houston on December 31, 2018, and the
  conclusion of their service provides a fitting opportunity to
  recognize the myriad contributions of this esteemed couple; and
         WHEREAS, Roy and Shirley Malonson founded what was initially
  called the Acres Home Citizen Chamber of Commerce in 1994, and in
  the subsequent 24 years, their able leadership of the organization
  helped bolster many education, business, and civic initiatives in
  the community; under their guidance, the chamber established the
  Acres Home Coalition Administrative School and was a driving force
  behind Lone Star College's Victory Center, as well as the magnet
  programs for the Aldine Independent School District; moreover,
  their work with the chamber was instrumental in the creation of the
  Acres Homes Multi-Service Center and the Acres Homes Police
  Station; and
         WHEREAS, Highly respected business leaders, Mr. and
  Mrs. Malonson are the founders of African-American News & Issues
  and Shirley Ann Black Kolectables & Flowers Shop; in addition, they
  have operated ranches in Harris and Waller Counties, and they have
  purchased and overseen numerous Domino's Pizza franchises; and
         WHEREAS, In retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Malonson plan to
  continue their philanthropic efforts and to spend more time with
  their cherished family, which includes their daughter, Melanie
  Nicole Malonson, and their two grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Our communities draw immeasurable strength from
  individuals such as Roy and Shirley Malonson, whose tireless work
  in behalf of area citizens has contributed significantly to the
  quality of life in Houston; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Roy and Shirley Malonson for their many
  years of service to the Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic
  Development, Inc., and extend to them sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Malonson as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
