R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Jesus Reyes of El Paso is being presented with the
  Blue Legacy Award in Agriculture by the Water Conservation Advisory
  Council and the Texas Water Development Board during Texas Water
  Day at the State Capitol on March 13, 2019; and
         WHEREAS, The general manager of El Paso County Water
  Improvement District No. 1, Mr. Reyes is being recognized for his
  outstanding achievements in water conservation over the past 15
  years; he has served in his present role for 14 years, and he
  previously made a positive impact through his dedicated efforts as
  a member of the board of District No. 1; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Reyes also serves as chair of the seven-county
  Region E Far West Texas Water Planning Group, and he is a member of
  the National Water Resources Association; in addition, he has
  served as president of the Texas Irrigation Council and as a member
  of the Stormwater Committee; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his community, Mr. Reyes has
  given generously of his time and expertise in many leadership
  roles; he has served on the El Paso County Parks and Recreation
  Board, the El Paso International Airport Board, and the Aliviane
  Board of Directors; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
  support of his wife of 39 years, Martha, and he takes great pride in
  their four children and nine grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, The careful stewardship of water resources is a
  matter of increasing urgency across the Lone Star State, and Jesus
  Reyes has set a standard of excellence to which others may aspire;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jesus A. Reyes on his receipt of
  the Blue Legacy Award in Agriculture from the Water Conservation
  Advisory Council and the Texas Water Development Board and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his important
  work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Reyes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
