R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life dedicated to faith and family drew to a close
  with the passing of Mary Evelyn Cooke Patman of Waxahachie on March
  20, 2019, at the age of 86; and
         WHEREAS, Born on August 16, 1932, in Ellis County to Frank and
  Una Cooke, the former Mary Cooke grew up as one of 12 children in a
  close-knit Christian family; she was joined in matrimony to Donald
  Patman on October 20, 1950, and together, they shared in the joy of
  raising two adopted children, Steve and Lori; later in life, the
  couple experienced the delight of welcoming six grandchildren and
  six great-grandchildren into their circle of loved ones; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Patman was a devoted wife and mother and a
  woman of many gifts; she was an excellent cook and seamstress, and
  she spent numerous hours developing her artistic talents and
  creating beautiful paintings; moreover, she was an active member of
  the Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, where her husband
  served as an elder, and she supported the congregation by teaching
  Bible classes, vacation Bible school, and summer youth camps and by
  participating in mission trips; and
         WHEREAS, Although she is greatly missed, Mary Patman has left
  her family and friends with a wealth of cherished memories, and she
  will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mary Evelyn Cooke
  Patman and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her husband, Donald Patman; to her children, Steve Patman and his
  wife, Joyce, and Lori Vantreese; to her grandchildren, Dustin
  Patman and his wife, Melinda, Stephanie Cochran and her husband,
  Andrew, Donald "Chase" Patman and his wife, Ashlei, Lyndsay Cannon,
  Cecile Vantreese, and Erin Allen; to her great-grandchildren, Tatum
  and Stevey Marshall, Corbett and Piper Cochran, Culver Patman, and
  Zane Cannon; to her brothers, Ralph Cooke and his wife, Juanita,
  Wendell Cooke and his wife, Marva, and Billy Joe Cooke and his wife,
  Evelyn; to her sisters, Larue Dyess and Betty Venable and her
  husband, Sonny; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary
  Patman.
