R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Brandon Craigie of Lindsay High School earned first |
|
|
place in both calculator applications and science at the 2018 |
|
|
University Interscholastic League 2A Academic State Meet held in |
|
|
Austin on May 4 and 5; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Craigie proved to be a tremendous asset to the |
|
|
Lindsay academic team; with his individual wins in the calculator |
|
|
and science competitions, he helped his school to claim the overall |
|
|
titles in those events; in the science contest, he held the top |
|
|
score in the physics portion and finished second in biology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his gold medals in calculator and |
|
|
science, Mr. Craigie received silver in number sense, contributing |
|
|
to the Lindsay team's capture of the state crown in that event for |
|
|
the 12th consecutive year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With his fine showing in the state's premier high |
|
|
school academic competition, this bright young Texan has ably |
|
|
represented his school and community, and the dedication he has |
|
|
demonstrated is sure to serve him well in the years ahead; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon Craigie on his success at |
|
|
the 2018 UIL 2A Academic State Meet and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Craigie as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
