R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Cameron Worth of Lindsay High School earned first |
|
|
place in the number sense event at the 2018 University |
|
|
Interscholastic League 2A Academic State Meet, held in Austin on |
|
|
May 4 and 5; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Securing the individual number sense championship |
|
|
for the second consecutive year, Mr. Worth outscored his opponents |
|
|
on an 80-question test that required participants to quickly find |
|
|
solutions to a variety of mathematical problems without the benefit |
|
|
of calculating tools; in addition, he finished second in the meet's |
|
|
calculator contest and ranked sixth in math and eighth in science; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With his fine showing in the state's premier high |
|
|
school academic competition, this bright young Texan has ably |
|
|
represented his school and community, and the dedication he has |
|
|
demonstrated is sure to serve him well in the years ahead; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cameron Worth on his success at the |
|
|
2018 UIL 2A Academic State Meet and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Worth as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
