R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, John G. Rouse is retiring as superintendent of the
  Rains County Independent School District in June 2019, concluding
  37 years of outstanding service in public education; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rouse began his career as a coach and social
  studies teacher with Garland ISD, and he went on to hold positions
  with the Richardson and Carrollton-Farmers Branch school
  districts; in 1991, he joined Crandall ISD, where, over the course
  of a 14-year tenure, he served as a varsity football, track, and
  baseball coach, social studies teacher, assistant high school
  principal, and intermediate campus principal; he briefly returned
  to work with the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school district before
  transferring to Kaufman ISD to serve as a high school principal and
  assistant superintendent and then to Jarrell ISD to serve as
  superintendent; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the Rains County school district in
  2012, Mr. Rouse has worked tirelessly to foster a supportive and
  challenging educational environment for area students, and he has
  earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues along the way;
  and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his duties as an administrator,
  Mr. Rouse has contributed to his professional community as a member
  of the Texas Association of Rural Schools Board of Directors, the
  UIL Executive Committee and Legislative Council, the membership
  committee of the American Football Coaches Association, and the
  Region 7 Education Service Center Executive Board; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rouse holds a bachelor's degree from East Texas
  State University-Commerce and a master's degree in education from
  Texas A&M University-Commerce; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed
  the love and support of his wife, Janice, and his children, John and
  Jill; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of nearly four decades, John Rouse
  has helped countless young Texans acquire the knowledge and skills
  necessary to succeed, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a
  career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate John G. Rouse on his retirement as
  superintendent of the Rains County Independent School District and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Rouse as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
