R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Honorable David C. Davis retired as Haskell |
|
|
County judge on March 31, 2019, concluding a noteworthy tenure that |
|
|
spanned more than two decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, First elected in 1996, David Davis ably fulfilled |
|
|
the responsibilities of his office, going above and beyond in |
|
|
behalf of his fellow citizens; over the years, he further shared his |
|
|
knowledge and expertise by serving on countless boards and |
|
|
committees; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was born in Kinston, North Carolina, to |
|
|
Joe and Joyce Davis; he grew up in the Mattson community in Haskell |
|
|
County with a sister, Diana Kay, and attended Hardin-Simmons |
|
|
University; from 1970 to 1971, he served his country in the U.S. |
|
|
Army, and he was stationed in Virginia and Korea; he worked with his |
|
|
father on the family farm before buying an auto supply store, which |
|
|
he operated for 20 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Davis is supported by the |
|
|
love and encouragement of his wife, Donna; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his leadership and commitment to public |
|
|
service, David Davis has contributed immeasurably to his community, |
|
|
and his accomplishments will continue to resonate for years to |
|
|
come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate David C. Davis on his retirement as |
|
|
Haskell County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
