R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Erin Ray of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Troop |
|
|
No. 1177 in Austin has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this |
|
|
accomplishment truly merits recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Ray successfully met a |
|
|
series of requirements emphasizing community service, personal and |
|
|
spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership skills; as part |
|
|
of that process, she planned and implemented a Girl Scout Gold Award |
|
|
project that will have a positive and lasting impact in her |
|
|
community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging |
|
|
young women to explore career opportunities and to become more |
|
|
socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its |
|
|
participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged |
|
|
citizens and leaders; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Ray has |
|
|
demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest |
|
|
ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
|
a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Erin Ray on her receipt of the Girl |
|
|
Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ray as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
