R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Michelle Johnson received well-deserved recognition |
|
|
when she was presented with the Secondary Teacher of the Year Award |
|
|
at the Plano Independent School District 2018 Teacher of the Year |
|
|
Gala; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A librarian at Rice Middle School, Ms. Johnson has |
|
|
worked to develop and enhance the campus library not only as a |
|
|
resource for young readers, but also as a space where students can |
|
|
study, socialize, and explore such interests as robotics, |
|
|
photography, art, and 3D printing; over the past two years, she has |
|
|
created and implemented a host of programs, which include reading |
|
|
challenges, poetry slams, book fairs, book clubs, and book release |
|
|
parties that are designed to connect readers of all ages; along the |
|
|
way, she has demonstrated a commitment to engaging with students on |
|
|
an individual level and ensuring that the library is a positive and |
|
|
enriching learning environment for each of its visitors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Michelle Johnson exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best educators, and she has set a standard of excellence to which |
|
|
all in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michelle Johnson on her receipt of |
|
|
the 2018 Plano ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year Award and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
