R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ashley Dantzler received well-deserved recognition |
|
|
when she was presented with an Excellence in Elementary Teaching |
|
|
Award at the Plano Independent School District 2018 Teacher of the |
|
|
Year Gala; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A fourth-grade teacher at Huffman Elementary |
|
|
School, Ms. Dantzler has demonstrated exceptional leadership and |
|
|
skill in implementing the school's International Baccalaureate |
|
|
Primary Youth Program; in addition to writing curriculum, she has |
|
|
advanced the program's mission of supporting the whole child by |
|
|
emphasizing the importance of social and emotional learning |
|
|
alongside academic development; she further shares her talents as |
|
|
an educator with children at Cornerstone Preparatory Academy of |
|
|
Naomi's Village children's home in Maai Mahiu, Kenya, where she has |
|
|
traveled to work each summer since 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ashley Dantzler exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ashley Dantzler on her receipt of a |
|
|
2018 Plano ISD Excellence in Elementary Teaching Award and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Dantzler as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
