R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, LaTunya Austin received well-deserved recognition |
|
|
when she was presented with an Excellence in Secondary Teaching |
|
|
Award at the Plano Independent School District 2018 Teacher of the |
|
|
Year Gala; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Shanae" Austin has been a science teacher at Renner |
|
|
Middle School for six years; in addition to serving as head of the |
|
|
science department and leading the science fair, she has sponsored |
|
|
a number of student organizations, including the National Junior |
|
|
Honor Society, the Diamond Club, and the dance club; providing her |
|
|
students with a nurturing yet challenging learning environment, she |
|
|
encourages them to become critical thinkers and motivates them to |
|
|
reach their full potential; furthermore, she has received a PTA |
|
|
Honorary Life Membership Award in recognition of the positive |
|
|
impact she has had on the district; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Shanae Austin exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Shanae Austin on her receipt of a |
|
|
2018 Plano ISD Excellence in Secondary Teaching Award and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Austin as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
