R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
|
of Dorothy Fetters Haverlah of Pleasanton, who passed away on March |
|
|
21, 2018, at the age of 90; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Edmund and Florence Fetters, the |
|
|
former Dorothy Fetters was born on July 1, 1927, in Leming; she wed |
|
|
Clydell Edward Haverlah in 1946, and they shared a rewarding |
|
|
marriage that spanned 53 years, before his death; Mrs. Haverlah |
|
|
took great pride in their children, Edward and Cynthia, as well as |
|
|
in their grandchildren, Page, Whitney, Megan, Brian, and Brooke, |
|
|
and great-grandchildren, Jonah, Ruth, Nolan, Amelia, Fletcher, and |
|
|
Daniel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to working in the real estate business, |
|
|
Mrs. Haverlah set an inspiring example of civic and political |
|
|
engagement; she served as a member of the Pleasanton City Council |
|
|
and as president of the Woman's Club of Pleasanton, and she was a |
|
|
valued congregant of First United Methodist Church of Pleasanton; |
|
|
in her leisure time, she enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling |
|
|
the United States and Canada with her husband; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With her generosity, graciousness, and delightful |
|
|
sense of humor, Dorothy Haverlah won the admiration and affection |
|
|
of all who knew her, and she is deeply missed; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy Fetters |
|
|
Haverlah and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family and many |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy |
|
|
Fetters Haverlah. |
