R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Angora Goat Raisers Association is hosting |
|
|
its 100th annual show and sale in Kerrville from June 27 to 29, |
|
|
2019; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1920, TAGRA was founded to serve as |
|
|
the official voice of Angora goat raisers in the Lone Star State and |
|
|
to organize a yearly statewide show and sale for the goat ranching |
|
|
community; the first event was held in Rio Frio under the leadership |
|
|
of Bob Davis, the organization's first president; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This year, the centennial is taking place at the |
|
|
Kerr County Hill Country Youth Event Center and features registered |
|
|
white and colored Angora goats for show and sale, as well as vendors |
|
|
selling a wide variety of natural fibers; in addition, the occasion |
|
|
is serving as the national show for the Colored Angora Goat Breeders |
|
|
Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of a century, this signature |
|
|
showcase has provided goat-raising professionals with an |
|
|
opportunity to celebrate their trade, and this special anniversary |
|
|
gathering is indeed worthy of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 100th annual show and sale |
|
|
sponsored by the Texas Angora Goat Raisers Association and extend |
|
|
to the organizers and attendees sincere best wishes for a rewarding |
|
|
visit to Kerrville; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for TAGRA as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
