R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Keyla Martinez has been named salutatorian of the |
|
|
Class of 2019 at Collegiate High School in Corpus Christi, and she |
|
|
indeed merits special recognition for receiving this significant |
|
|
honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two |
|
|
top ranking students in her class, Ms. Martinez demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her |
|
|
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|
|
of a notable high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Marilu and Benigno Martinez, |
|
|
Ms. Martinez is graduating with both a diploma from Collegiate High |
|
|
School and an associate degree in liberal arts from Del Mar College; |
|
|
she has taken an active role in her campus community, participating |
|
|
in National History Day and representing the school's Culture Club |
|
|
at Culture Fest; moreover, she has interned with the Coastal Bend |
|
|
Blood Center and volunteered with Evans Chiropractic and The |
|
|
Cattery Cat Shelter; following her graduation, she plans to attend |
|
|
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to pursue a degree in nursing; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her years at Collegiate High, Keyla Martinez |
|
|
has earned the respect and admiration of both her teachers and |
|
|
classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment |
|
|
to excellence have opened the way to a bright and promising future |
|
|
for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Keyla Martinez on graduating as |
|
|
salutatorian of the Collegiate High School Class of 2019 and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the |
|
|
next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
