R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Economedes High School head coach Carlos Ramos has |
|
|
been named Boys Basketball Coach of the Year by the Monitor |
|
|
newspaper; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since taking charge of the Economedes basketball |
|
|
program in 2015, Coach Ramos has helped the Jaguars to improve |
|
|
dramatically; the team won just seven games in his first year at the |
|
|
helm but has notched 22, 24, and 26 victories, respectively, over |
|
|
the past three seasons; during the 2018-2019 campaign, Economedes |
|
|
clinched a share of the district crown and recorded the first |
|
|
postseason win in school history; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ramos gained his initial coaching experience in |
|
|
the Donna Independent School District; following his arrival at |
|
|
Economedes, he served as a freshman and junior varsity basketball |
|
|
coach before accepting his present position; he also coaches the |
|
|
running backs on the school's football team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his leadership and expertise, Carlos Ramos |
|
|
is building a tradition of basketball excellence at Economedes High |
|
|
School, and he is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Carlos Ramos on being named Boys |
|
|
Basketball Coach of the Year by the Monitor newspaper and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Coach Ramos as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
