R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Anahita Shadaab Farishta has been named |
|
|
valedictorian of the Class of 2019 at W. B. Ray High School in |
|
|
Corpus Christi, and she indeed merits special recognition for |
|
|
receiving this significant honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; in securing her place as the top |
|
|
ranking student in her class, Ms. Farishta demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her attainment of |
|
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
|
high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Abdul Hameed and Mumtaz Farishta, |
|
|
Ms. Farishta plans to attend Pomona College in Claremont, |
|
|
California, where she intends to double major in Asian studies and |
|
|
physics; in addition to the pride inherent in being recognized for |
|
|
her hard work, she has gained the opportunity to address her fellow |
|
|
seniors at commencement and to reflect on their shared history as |
|
|
well as their hopes and ambitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her years at W. B. Ray High School, Anahita |
|
|
Shadaab Farishta has earned the respect and admiration of both her |
|
|
teachers and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and |
|
|
commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and |
|
|
promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Anahita Shadaab Farishta on |
|
|
graduating as valedictorian of the Class of 2019 at W. B. Ray High |
|
|
School and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Farishta as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
