R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Emily Richmond Gilby of Cedar Park has ably served |
|
|
her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative |
|
|
John H. Bucy III during the 86th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Gilby has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
which have included conducting policy research and analyzing bills; |
|
|
in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|
|
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Ralph and Kim Gilby, Emily Gilby is a |
|
|
sophomore at Southwestern University, where she is working toward |
|
|
her political science degree, and she plans to pursue a career in |
|
|
law; her academic achievements at Southwestern University have |
|
|
earned her placement on the dean's list and recognition as a Finch |
|
|
Scholar, and she has further distinguished herself as a member of |
|
|
the university's mock trial team and as co-chair of the |
|
|
Southwestern College Democrats; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Emily Richmond Gilby for her service as |
|
|
a legislative aide in the office of State Representative John H. |
|
|
Bucy III and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Gilby as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
