R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Julia Durnan has ably served her fellow Texans as a |
|
|
policy analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during |
|
|
the 86th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Durnan has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
and she has been particularly instrumental in conducting research |
|
|
and advancing Representative Wu's legislative agenda on |
|
|
initiatives concerning criminal and juvenile justice; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Durnan is an alumna of Duke University, where |
|
|
she earned her bachelor's degree in public policy with distinction |
|
|
in 2015; she is currently a student at The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin and is on track to receive her master's degree in public |
|
|
affairs in May 2020; before beginning her work at the State Capitol, |
|
|
she acquired experience in policy research as a case manager for the |
|
|
Law Office of Mario Ramos in Nashville, Tennessee, as an intern for |
|
|
NVG in Washington, D.C., and as a policy analyst and project |
|
|
associate for the Urban Institute Justice Policy Center in |
|
|
Washington, D.C.; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Julia Durnan has performed her duties as a policy |
|
|
analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Julia Durnan for her service as a policy |
|
|
analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Durnan as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
