R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Maurice Earl Toliver of
  Houston were deeply saddened by his death on May 8, 2019, at the age
  of 79; and
         WHEREAS, Born on February 29, 1940, Maurice Toliver grew up
  in Houston and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1961;
  he exchanged the vows of matrimony with Ella Kellum in 1965, and
  they shared a rewarding marriage that spanned 54 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Toliver worked at Southwest Camera Store for
  several years, and he took photos for Wheatley and Booker T.
  Washington High Schools and on numerous special occasions,
  including weddings, funerals, and community, church, and social
  events; and
         WHEREAS, A man of deep religious faith, he was a member of
  Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church for more than six decades,
  during which time he held positions as church treasurer and trustee
  and participated in the Annual Back to School Health Fair; he
  further benefited his community through his work at a number of
  local institutions, including the Faith Revitalization Center, the
  Greater Fifth Ward Congregational Health Center, and the Rebuilding
  Houston Project; in addition, he held membership in the Phillis
  Wheatley Metropolitan Alumni and Ex-Student Association; and
         WHEREAS, Maurice Toliver possessed a generosity of spirit
  that expressed itself in myriad ways, and he enriched the lives of
  countless people with his warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maurice Earl
  Toliver and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Maurice
  Earl Toliver.
