R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tia A. Whitman has been named valedictorian of the |
|
Class of 2019 at Banquete High School, and she indeed merits special |
|
recognition for receiving this significant honor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; in securing her place as the top |
|
ranking student in her class, Ms. Whitman demonstrated a thorough |
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her attainment of |
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
high school career; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Bernie Gonzalez, Ms. Whitman plans |
|
to study biology at Texas A&M University and pursue a medical |
|
degree; in addition to the pride inherent in being recognized for |
|
her hard work, she has gained the opportunity to address her fellow |
|
seniors at commencement and to reflect on their shared history as |
|
well as their hopes and ambitions; and |
|
WHEREAS, During her years at Banquete High School, Tia |
|
A. Whitman has earned the respect and admiration of both her |
|
teachers and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability and |
|
commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and |
|
promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tia A. Whitman on graduating as the |
|
valedictorian of the Banquete High School Class of 2019 and extend |
|
to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the |
|
next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Whitman as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
