R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Alan Reyes has been named salutatorian of the Class |
|
|
of 2019 at Brownsville Early College High School, and he indeed |
|
|
merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; in securing his place as one of the top |
|
|
ranking students in his class, Mr. Reyes demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his attainment of |
|
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
|
high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Claudia Garza and Armando Reyes, |
|
|
Mr. Reyes earned a 5.01 GPA, and he looks forward to attending The |
|
|
University of Texas at Austin; he has twice placed second in |
|
|
computer security at the Business Professionals of America |
|
|
competition, twice qualified for national competition at the Rio |
|
|
Grande Valley Regional Chess Tournament, and was recognized as best |
|
|
attorney in the first round of the Texas Regional High School Mock |
|
|
Trial Competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his years at BECHS, Alan Reyes has earned the |
|
|
respect and admiration of both his teachers and classmates, and his |
|
|
exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence have |
|
|
opened the way to a bright and promising future for this outstanding |
|
|
young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alan Reyes on graduating as |
|
|
salutatorian of the Brownsville Early College High School Class of |
|
|
2019 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as |
|
|
he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Reyes as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
