R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The Education Service Center Region 12 Technology |
|
|
Foundation has demonstrated remarkable generosity with its gift of |
|
|
more than $53,000 in grant money to six area school districts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 2012 by ESC Region 12, the Technology |
|
|
Foundation seeks to help the region's schools put educational |
|
|
technology into the hands of students; including this year's |
|
|
grants, the foundation has awarded nearly $386,000 to school |
|
|
districts and charter schools serving over 14,000 students in |
|
|
Central Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 2019 distribution of funds includes $7,150 to La |
|
|
Vega Independent School District for the purchase of language arts |
|
|
technology, $7,911 to McGregor High School for graphing |
|
|
calculators, and $9,800 to Dawson ISD's elementary campus to buy |
|
|
reading pens for struggling readers and ESL students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition, Corsicana ISD's elementary campus |
|
|
received $10,000 to turn its classrooms into digital learning |
|
|
communities, Hillsboro ISD's elementary school received $8,677 to |
|
|
incorporate interactive technology into its social and emotional |
|
|
learning curriculum, and the member districts of the Hill County |
|
|
Shared Service Arrangement were awarded $10,000 to create an |
|
|
assistive technology lending library; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By providing area students with state-of-the-art |
|
|
technology, the ESC Region 12 Technology Foundation is helping |
|
|
young Texans prepare themselves for the challenges and |
|
|
opportunities of a rapidly changing world; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the Education Service Center Region 12 |
|
|
Technology Foundation on its 2019 distribution of grant money and |
|
|
extend to all those associated with the foundation sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success in their important work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the ESC Region 12 Technology Foundation as an |
|
|
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
