R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Entrepreneurs and the small businesses they create |
|
|
play an essential role in the Texas economy, generating jobs and |
|
|
enhancing the overall vitality of the communities they serve; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 2015, the restaurant |
|
|
Juniper has built an admirable reputation in the Austin area and |
|
|
made an important contribution to the city's vibrant dining scene; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Juniper benefits from the inspired leadership of |
|
|
owner and chef Nic Yanes, a native of Cypress and a graduate of the |
|
|
Western Culinary Institute who was previously chef and creative |
|
|
director at the popular Uchi restaurant in Austin; his new |
|
|
restaurant features contemporary Northern Italian cuisine, made |
|
|
with locally sourced ingredients; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The owners and staff of Juniper are helping to make |
|
|
the enterprise a Lone Star success story, and they may take |
|
|
justifiable pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Juniper as a noteworthy member of the |
|
|
Austin business community and extend to all those associated with |
|
|
the restaurant sincere best wishes for the future; and be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Juniper as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
