R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Far North Dallas Richardson Democrats have
  played an important role in civic life for well over a decade; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 2004, the organization was founded by
  two House District 102 precinct chairs, Anthony Pace and Robert
  Franklin; the club held a primary forum that year, and it became a
  signature event; and
         WHEREAS, The group recruited Carol Kent to run for state
  representative in 2007, and members formed her initial campaign
  team; following her election, the club continued to expand its
  reach beyond House District 102, and it adopted the name Far North
  Dallas Democrats in 2009; three years later, it merged with the
  Richardson Democrats, and today it draws its membership from
  Dallas, Denton, and Collin Counties; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting progressive legislation, the
  organization identifies, recruits, and supports worthy candidates
  for public office at all levels of government; it provides a forum
  for the exchange of ideas and sponsors activities to raise
  awareness in the community and strengthen the Democratic Party; and
         WHEREAS, The men and women of the Far North Dallas Richardson
  Democrats have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the ideals
  of good government and social progress, and through their active
  engagement in the political arena, they are setting an outstanding
  example for their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Far North Dallas Richardson Democrats
  for their contributions and extend to the members sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
