H.R. No. 1793

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Josue Javier Borrego has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2019 at Rio Hondo High School in Brownsville, and he indeed merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor; and

WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; in securing his place as one of the two top-ranking students in his class, Mr. Borrego demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable high school career; and

WHEREAS, In addition to managing a demanding course load and maintaining a 4.83 grade point average, Mr. Borrego further distinguished himself through his participation in FFA and the Bobcat Band, which he helped lead as captain of the brass section; and

WHEREAS, During his years at Rio Hondo High, Josue Borrego has earned the respect and admiration of both his teachers and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Josue Javier Borrego on graduating as salutatorian of the Rio Hondo High School Class of 2019 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Borrego as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
