R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dena McCutcheon of Murphy Middle School was |
|
|
recognized with a Secondary Excellence in Teaching award at the |
|
|
Plano Independent School District Teacher of the Year Gala on May 9, |
|
|
2019; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. McCutcheon began her teaching career as a |
|
|
special education paraprofessional at Mitchell Elementary School |
|
|
in 1997, and after earning a degree in special education from Texas |
|
|
Woman's University in 2002, she took a teaching position at |
|
|
Hightower Elementary School; she currently serves as a behavior |
|
|
support classroom teacher at Murphy Middle School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dena McCutcheon exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dena McCutcheon on her receipt of a |
|
|
2019 Secondary Excellence in Teaching award from the Plano |
|
|
Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success with her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. McCutcheon as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
